The Weather (1)

Rain Dance

Children rub their fingers together to make a mist, rub their hands together to make a drizzle, pat knees to make a downpour, stomp the floor to make thunder. Then reverse the movements for the rain to stop.

Whistling Wind

Sung to: „If you’re happy and you know it”

If you hear the whistling wind,
Cup your ears.
If you hear the whistling wind,
Cup your ears.
If you hear it in the trees
Making music with the leaves,
If you hear the whistling wind,
Cup your ears.
If you feel the Blustery wind,
Whirl around
If you feel the blustery wind,
Whirl around.
If you feel it lift your hair
Like a kite up in the air,
If you feel the blustery wind,
Whirl around.

The Playful Wind

The wind came out to play one day.
He swept the clouds out of his way.
(Make sweeping motion with hands.)
He blew the leaves and away they flew.
(Mke fluttering motions with fingers.)
The trees bent low and their branches did too!
(Lift arms high and lower them.)
The wind blew the great big ships at sea.
(Repeat sweeping motion.)
The wind blew the kite away from me

Look Outside

Sung to: „Twinkle, Twinkle, little star”

Look outside now, can you say
What the weather is today?
Is there sunshine, is there rain,
Is wind blowing down the lane?
Look outside now, can you say
What the weather is today?
Look outside now, can you say
What the weather is today?
Are there snowflakes falling down,
Are there big clouds floating around?
Look outside now, Can you say
What the weather is today?

Dance Like Snowflakes

Sung to: „Frere Jacques”

Dance like snowflakes
Dance like snowflakes
In the air
In the air
Whirling, twirling, snowflakes
Whirling, twirling, snowflakes
Here and there
Here and there.

Frost

Sung to: „The farmer in the Dell”

The frost is on the roof
(point hands over head)
The frost is on the ground
(point to the floor)
The frost is on the window
(make a window with your hands)
The frost is all around
(make large circles with hands)

Snowflakes

Sung to: „Sailing, Sailing”

Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Falling to the ground.
Each one rest so gently
They never make a sound.
Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Are so pure and white.
The special thing about them is
No two are alike.

The Wintery Wind

Sung to: „Happy Birthday”

The winter wind blows.
The winter wind blows.
It gives me the shivers
From my head to my toes!

It is Raining

Sung to: „Frere Jacques”

It is raining, It is raining,
On my head, on my head.
Pitter, patter raindrops,
Pitter, patter raindrops,
I’m all wet, I’m all wet!

What’s the weather?

Sung to: Oh, My Darling Clementine”

What’s the weather, What’s the weather.
What’s the weather, everyone?
Is it windy, is it cloudy,
Is there rain or is there sun?

Weather Song

Sung to: „Mary Had a Little Lamb”

The weather is a funny thing,
Funny thing, funny thing,
The weather is a funny thing
It changes everyday.
Monday is a ________ day,
______ day, ________day
Monday is a ________ day,

The sun was shining bright / The rain was wet and soggy / The clouds were white and fluffy / The snow was white and light / The Wind was strong and cold.

When I Look Into The Sky

Sung to: „Twinkle twinkle”

When I look into the sky
I can see the clouds go by
They  don’t ever make a sound
Letting wind push them around
Some go fast and some go slow
I wonder where the clouds all go

Umbrella Song by Sara Kreutz

It rains on him (point to boy child)
And it rains on her  (point to girl child)
But it sure doesn’t rain on this little fella (point to self)
Because I have a huge umbrella.
